Method ("we", "us", or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use the Method mobile application (the "App").

By using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

1. Information We Collect

We collect only the information necessary to provide and improve the App experience:

• Account information: Phone number used for authentication via one-time passcode (OTP). We do not collect your name, age, gender, or other personally identifying information.
• Program preference: The training program you select when setting up your profile, used to personalise your experience.
• Workout data: Sets, reps, weight, and performance metrics you record within the App, stored securely in your account.
• Subscription status: Whether you hold an active Method Premium subscription, managed via Apple's App Store.
• Usage analytics: Anonymised event data (e.g. feature interactions, session duration) collected via Firebase Analytics to help us improve the App. This data is not linked to your identity.
• Device information: General device type and operating system version for debugging purposes.

2. What We Do Not Collect

We deliberately avoid collecting:

• Your full name, date of birth, or email address
• Location data or GPS information
• Health or biometric data beyond what you voluntarily log
• Payment information (all purchases are handled by Apple)
• Social media profiles or contacts
• Advertising identifiers or cross-app tracking data

3. How We Use Your Information

• To authenticate you and maintain your account securely
• To deliver your personalised training program and track your progress
• To process subscription access and restore purchases
• To improve the App through anonymised usage analytics
• To send critical service-related communications (e.g. mandatory app updates)

4. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored securely using Firebase / Google Cloud infrastructure, which is encrypted in transit and at rest. We use Firebase Authentication for secure phone-number sign-in and Firestore for personal workout data, which is protected by security rules that ensure only you can read or write your own records.

While we take reasonable measures to protect your data, no method of electronic storage is 100% secure. We encourage you to use the App responsibly.

5. Third-Party Services

The App uses the following third-party services, each governed by their own privacy policies:

• Firebase (Google): Authentication, database, analytics — privacy policy
• Apple App Store / StoreKit: Subscription management and in-app purchases — privacy policy
• Vimeo: Instructional training videos — privacy policy

We do not sell your data to any third party.

6. Data Retention

Your account data is retained for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account through the App, we permanently delete all associated data, including your workout logs, program progress, and exercise records, within 30 days.

7. Children's Privacy

The App is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with information, please contact us and we will promptly delete it.

8. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:

• The right to access, correct, or delete your personal data
• The right to data portability
• The right to object to or restrict processing
• The right to withdraw consent at any time

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
